Adam (Manorguard Adam) became Leo No.5. He was looking for somewhere to retire too and came to live with me. I’m not going into his showing success, but I will say Leos have got to go a long way to better his wins. He came to Saljay as a pet to enjoy his retirement, and that he did! Water was his favorite, but being rescued by him was something you wouldn’t do more than once, he used to munch whatever was in his mouth, be it a hand, arm or toy. He just swam along side whoever was working at the time. He loved life! He was more interested in the puppy’s than some of the girls. He taught the younger ones respect and how to behave , what you could and could not get away with. Adam went to rainbow Bridge on 03rd august 2002 ,1 month short of his 10th birthday. His presence still being missed to this day. It was a pleasure to be his last best friend.

Shamps . (Saljay Cupboard love). “The cream one” is how she was described and yes she was! No longer living here, she was not happy within the pack and always seemed to be on her own. The decision to re-home her was hard, she is the daughter of Sunny (Vannroy After Midnight) who is one of the happiest leos I’ve ever met. She is very happy in her new home with a wonderful lady called Brenda , who thinks shes the best thing since sliced bread. She too was and still is an active working leo enjoying water work and carting. Teaching her to swim was an accident that became her favorite interest, swimming with her was a real pleasure.

Spice (Vannroy Special Lady). A Quiet refined lady, Mother of Saljay ‘S’ litter , and loves to be with and around Buster , where there’s one there’s the other. Not too keen on the water but loves to chase a ball, rope or stick, but not the cat down the road since a nice scratch on the nose. A Real home girl, gets fed up on her walk, just stops and waits to be told “ok home you go” and off she goes. At this point I must say just after Adam arrived I moved out to the country. 3 bed Bungalow, 3Acres of Land, and lots of very quiet lanes. She is very at home here , most people that see her think she is a very quiet, but those that know her well have heard how verbal and playful she can be.

Luke (Saljay one ‘n’ only).Only boy in a litter of 13! Owned by Michael, but still living here. He too is a cream colour. Admired and adored by all who meet him, often greeted by him jumping into and out of the house over the gates. He became a quiet and shy dog after getting 1st in class as a puppy at crufts in 2001. He would not show again , and was withdrawn in himself until he had a go at agility. The agility brought him out and got his confidence back. He really enjoyed the agility and was amazing to watch completing all the course. He hates water with a vengeance, he will paddle if he wants to, but that’s it. He is really attached to Michael and will never be more than a few feet away. He and his litter sister Lulu were inseparable as puppy’s.
